Sex Ed Always a Controversial Topic
Is Politicized by State Involvement
As a Christian, as a parent, as a healthcare provider I am appalled with the state mandating sex ed (education) in the public schools. Yet, I am not surprised as it was Christians who initiated and promulgated public schools to push a Protestant {Christian} agenda in the 19th century. Now that the shoe is on the other foot it does not feel so good.
As the above graphic shows Christian parents across the country will keep their children home one day to protest the graphic sex ed agenda being taught to children {Sex Ed Sit Out}. Planned Parenthood, Human Rights Council and various LGBT groups will push their gender identity choice agenda as well as various types of sexual activities that have been condemned in the Scriptures or that are reserved for marriage {man and wife} {PARENTS STAGE WALKOUT OVER PLANNED PARENTHOOD’S GRAPHIC, VIOLENT SEX ED IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS. CRN.}. I do not blame them for being upset. We homeschooled most of our children to keep them out of the clutches of the government, with moderate success. However, now that American education is governed by its own cabinet level department of the Federal government parental choices matter little to local school boards.
Sampling of the materials used in
Public School Sex Ed classes
Here is a small edited sample of materials being used in sex ed classes. Some of this agenda masquerades as anti-bullying teaching when in fact it promotes behaviors that have only brought misery to individuals, families and finally to the nation. The more wide-spread sex outside of marriage and deviant sexual behaviors condemned by the Bible the greater the disruption of both the family and society. The answer provided by these groups, sociologists, psychologists, and even the government: promote more sexual activity at younger ages. These experts believe that parents are not competent to teach their children properly so they do not listen to them, thanks to the government. How did this come about?
One usually starts with the sexual rebellion of the 1960s; however, it began long before then, back in the early 19th century. The movie IndoctriNation is an excellent resource of the history of public education as is The Progressive Era (Rothbard, M. Mises Institute. 2017). Briefly, the Puritans came to America to build a nation for God. Though they produced some good theological works and promoted salvation by grace only, they also confused the Old Covenant with the New Covenant. They believed they could build a godly nation using the power of the state through publicly funded schools. The concept of free education spread throughout the nation as the descendants of the Puritans moved ever Westward. Their pietistic approach to culture resulted in several problems that remain with us today.
The First Great Awakening built up momentum for the American Revolution. The Second Great Awakening did even more damage building up momentum for Lincoln’s War against the South. However, it was from the burnt over region of New York that the greatest damage was done. Charles Finney promoted a pietistic but false doctrinal born again free will theology based on camp meetings outside of the local church. The pietistic movement fueled the Republican Party which forced its statist federal agenda on those states that resisted its endeavors via the use of armies. Most of Europe was appalled by Lincoln’s conduct of the war against non-military targets such as cities, farms and non-combatants.
Yet, it was the social fabric that suffered the most as Republican reformers sought to remake society as they wanted, especially by eliminating alcohol by force of law. The Democratic Party was somewhat free of this influence until William Jennings Bryant brought his oratory and pietistic beliefs to the 1896 Democratic presidential convention. Thus, the Democratic Party also became pietistic believing they could also use the force of government to remake society as they saw fit. Unfortunately, The Progressive Era had begun its pogrom of national socialization that has yet to end. The religious influence within the Democratic Party waxed and waned but by the 1960s the shackles of theology were exchanged for anything but the Bible.
The Republican Christians used the power of the state to promote their Protestant agenda producing moralistic citizens that dutifully obeyed the state, usually. Others were learning from them and when their time came they seized the power of the state and began using it to push their own pietistic agenda since the 1960s. It was not that God was thrown out of the schools, He was never in the schools. Moralism is not salvation nor is a false doctrine the cornerstone for God’s kingdom. Christ said His kingdom was not of this world (Jo 18:36). Attempts to make His kingdom in this world are surely supported by Lucifer and not Christ. The backlash we endure today is a result of over 100 years of Christendom piety come home to roost.
The only winner was the federal statist government that became the god of this country. It was seen as the provider of all that is fair, equitable and just when in fact it has produced just the opposite effect. Now that Americans have enjoyed over 100 years of national socialism there is a movement to extend socialism to a global scale, globalization. Europe has experimented with socialism on a regional scale with predictable results. Open Society funded by George Soros has been actively pushing globalization for some time. The breakdown of the family is a necessary component in this endeavor. Everyone must come to the government for everything and the family is the last vanguard of values not sanctioned by the government. Thus, the promotion of rampant of any and all sexual activity at whatever ages is the best leverage against the family. Government sponsored sex ed gives this agenda an air of legitimacy.
By using government the Christian movement went outside of churches directly to the government, an ungodly institution that uses only force to obtain the only resource it feeds upon: power. But, as the national socialistic state grows weaker due to the drain on its resources the push for an overarching international ruling body grows. Man wants no boundaries on behavior but unbounded sinful behavior tends to greater displays of violence and self-degradation that calls for more governmental control of the citizens. This is the future America has made for itself.
The Bible said the world will grow worse and worse (2Ti 3:12-13). People just did not expect that incorrect Christian doctrine based on poor hermeneutics would be in the vanguard. Parents can keep their children out of school one day and no one will care. If they keep them out period they will discover the state to be not so friendly and homeschooling is not much of a solution since the state controls the agenda that needs to be taught, though Bible is still allowed. I foresee this avenue closing in the future also. We should not be surprised that the world rejects biblical teaching, it is foolishness to them (1Co 2:14). It did not work shoving it down their throats except to make them masters of the same system they are not using against Christians. The true issue is: “Will you remain faithful in the face of government power or will you worship the government?” So far, I’ve seen too many evangelical churches continue to worship the government and its organs of power that will be used against them rather than worship Christ and His coming Kingdom. The movement toward globalization will not stop nor will the persecution of those who love Christ.
