This common platitude expresses ignorance
of both the Bible and common observation
Racism is the catchphrase of the day being touted as the major sin and the basis for justifying incredible personal and social violence that has not been seen in America since the heyday of the 1960s. According to Merriam-Webster, racism is “a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.” The above graphic succinctly expresses the ignorance permeating preventing rational discussion of this issue. The problem is violation of the Law of Identity of Logic. Racism demands that there be at least two different races; there is only one race.
The Bible clearly states God created only one man and that woman was made from man; ergo, only one race (Ge 2:7, 21-22). When Noah, who descended from Adam and Eve, began repopulating the earth there could only be the one race. In fact, in spite of God’s admonition to spread out over the earth, man conglomerated together to build a single government based on a false faith that would drown out God’s truth. That place – Babel (Ge 11:1-9). God intervened by introducing several different worldviews indicated by the change from a language to several languages. Another element of sin was unmasked: hatred of differences. People conglomerated by language and worldviews while moving away from those who spoke and thought differently. As these groups migrated into different geographical areas and intermarried they further subdivided based on outward characteristics such as skin color, bone structure, hair texture and so forth. However, this did not change their race. There remained only one race. So, where did the idea of races come from?
That would be from the very modern pseudoscience, evolution. Specifically, Alfred Wallace delivered a speech in 1864 detailing how Darwin’s natural selection concept produced the various races of man (The Origin of Human Races and the Antiquity of Man Deduced From the Theory of “Natural Selection”). This was used to explain why those of darker color and different bone structure had developed. Those of Christendom who supported slavery sought “proof-text” passages and used the Noah postdiluvian account to prove that God afflicted these people for the sin of Ham (Ge 9:20-25). Thus, lost scientific man and ignorant “learned” Christians joined forces to develop a myth never taught in the Bible but only recently synthesized by pseudoscientific leaders seeking to promulgate their error throughout the world. This learned ignorance has never stopped but it has produced terrible violence in its wake that continues today.
Does the fact that evolution is debated today
prove that evolution exists or is true? No.
Let us be clear about this salient point. Evolution was developed to disprove the Bible, especially the Cataclysm (Flood) events in Genesis. It could not prove its basic tenet: man descended from animals because Mr. Darwin could find no transitional fossils and as of this writing none have been found. The hidden truth is that Mr. Darwin wrote his book to postulate the idea of races of men and the superiority of his race over all other races as was implied in his title, “On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life”. The entire concept of races was developed to explain why one group of people advanced when other groups of people with the same knowledge did not advance. Their conclusion was that one group was smarter while the other groups were stupid by design. No attempt was made to understand how one’s worldview determines one’s life’s choices.
Though the Chinese discovered gun powder, printing, magnetism and sailing they did not seek to explore the world. Why? Their worldview prevented them from understanding the significance of their discoveries. They lived in “Heaven on Earth”. They built the Great Wall to keep out those who would destroy “Heaven on Earth”. There was no place to discover for they lived in the only place worth discovering. Thus, they did not explore the world. Western cultures had a different worldview based on the biblical, even though often erroneous, understanding that Heaven is not on earth and that the earth is for man to explore, use and share with others. Europeans went exploring and further developed tools to assist them. The problem is that they took their sin with them also, just as Noah with his sons took their sin into the new world. As Western man became further educated to reject the Bible and define the world according to material methods he developed his own set of myths just as those whom he called primitive had. Racism as a concept was born; the problem, it was a false concept based on lies and deceptions.
The actual issue we should discuss is prejudice
Sinful man determines superiority by differences
Sinful man, and unfortunately many Christians also, remain mired in the myth of races and thus are trapped by the concept of racism. Yet, if there were difference races then naturally there would be differences between the races which in certain circumstances might allow one race dominance over other races. Would this be racism? Yes, but not as the term is applied today. Since there is only one race there can be NO racism. However, there is the very real concept of prejudice, “unreasonable feelings, opinions, or attitudes, especially of a hostile nature, regarding an ethnic, racial, social, or religious group” (Dictionary.com). Lost man, those educated without the benefit of the Bible do not understand prejudice. But, as I alluded to earlier, it is inherent in all people since we all were born in sin; Babel just unmasked this sin. It was also observed in the Bible when Cain wandered from his Godly family to the land of wanderers (Nod) to develop man’s first civilization based on laws and social structure and supported by technology to both control one’s own population while subduing those who are different from your society (Ge 4:8-24). Paul clearly explains the reason for this behavior (Ro 2:1-3). Those who inappropriately judge others do so to hide or excuse their own sin so they do not have to repent and acknowledge Christ as Lord. This is the condition of all lost people. None of us are saved because we sought out God; we are saved because God sought us out (Ro 3:10-18; 5:6-11).
Thus, racism is a false concept. It was born from sinful men who despised God’s truth and it is used today for the same reason. It is used by one group who believe they are superior against those whom they believe are inferior in order to obtain their ultimate goal of international globalism. Unfortunately, they also reveal the contradiction inherent in their sinful position. Many of those demonstrating against racism, against being white are in fact themselves white {I use their terminology even though there are no white or black people; we are all various shades of brown}. However, I do not see them preaching against themselves. This demonstrates the falseness of their charge and reveals their own prejudice. It’s not about skin color but about nationalism versus globalism. This is implied when they link fascism with racism, improperly I might add. Fascism is simply nationalistic socialism which rejected global socialism (communism). This reveals their true goal since they reject everyone who opposes globalization regardless of creed or nationality which makes them guilty of the same charge they have leveled at their opponents – prejudice.
Christians, we are to recognize this ploy and reject both globalization and nationalism. We seek a kingdom to come. Like Paul, we will live under whatever government God allows and if necessary, like Paul, we will die by the hands of that government rather than abandon the truth of God’s salvation message we carry to those around us. If we allow ourselves to join sides then we are not on Christ’s side (Jo 18:33-38). When they hear His message their response will be like Pilate’s, “What is truth?” But, if they are being saved then they will rejoice forevermore because they heard His call from our lips.
