What is Your Title?

Hagar Means Flight; Sarai Means Princess
Are these Names or Descriptive Titles?

Ever since I remember reading the Bible as a youth I was taught that the titles of each person were their actual names. I was amazed how their parents knew what their children were going to be as adults. I first heard the proposition that these names were not names at all but simply titles given to each person driving home to the reading the testimony of each person. I began wondering what God would call me? What would be His title for me? What would be my legacy title by which generations would remember me? What is your title? Unnaturalness of Natural Law

America’s Declaration Birthed by
John Locke’s Natural Law

Thomas Jefferson was heavily influenced by John Locke’s natural law philosophy when he penned America’s Declaration of Independence. This philosophy describes the divide between Conservatives, who believe in natural law, and the Liberals who appear to follow Thomas Hobbes philosophy of legal rights conferred by one’s reigning governmental system. Evangelical Christians have frequently joined the Conservatives because of some supposed belief that natural law is derived from God thus obligating them to adhere to the Conservatives. However, did John Locke draw his philosophy from the Bible? Is there bible verses that support natural law? Christians should care because we are morally obligated to follow Scripture and must be able to discern the truth of this matter to prevent us from inadvertently supporting Satan. This is the heart of this post.

The Sky is Falling Cataclysm! True!

Origins of Noah’s Flood Coming to Light
Science Catching up to the Bible, Again!

Chicken Little ran around the farm yard screaming, “The sky is falling! The sky is falling!” Cock Robin flew up into a tall tree and looked out over the countryside. “The sky is not falling,” he said disparagingly. Everything looked as it usually looked on a placid summer afternoon. By the same token, Greta Thunberg cried into the microphone, “Climate change will destroy my future! Does anybody care?” Her political backers and certain groups did care but not about catastrophe; their goal was political power unprecedented in world history. Yet, what if the truth of a coming cataclysm is true; is it in the Bible? Continue reading “The Sky is Falling Cataclysm! True!”

Do Trials Make You Stronger?

Fifth Element Adage, “Whatever doesn’t kill you
Just Makes You Stronger,” Is This True?

This adage, old saying, keeps cropping up in everyday conversations until it is perceived as true irregardless of whether it is actually true. This is how folk knowledge passes into accepted knowledge without any actual thought as to its validity. The adage appears to comfort those going through some difficult experience hoping they will become better; will they, did you? If the adage were true then there would be little to no Post Traumatic Stress Disorder {PTSD} for everyone would be made stronger through their traumatic experience. Is God the Tyrant of Heaven?

Theodicy Always Finds God Guilty
Blaming Him for the Evil of Man’s Sin

In Star Trek’s, The Cage, the alien with significant illusionary powers tells Captain Pike, “…wrong thinking will be punished; right thinking will be as quickly rewarded…{paraphrase}” Notice that in science fiction aliens become a substitute for God, gods or demons while noble mankind via science, knowledge, overcomes the superstitions of ancient civilizations? Is this true or is this propaganda designed to keep you from right thinking? Continue reading “Is God the Tyrant of Heaven?”

Shadows of Deceit

For a Society supposedly based on Science
Science is routinely rejected for Scientisms

I was struck by the awful truth of this statement coupled with my personal experience of trying to convince my contemporaries that they should obtain their Coronary Artery Calcium Score (CAC) rather than wait until they have that premature heart attack that permanently injures the heart. Nearly everyone I talked with scoffed at this even though I explained that I obtained my CAC and discovered I had significant Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) though I never had a single chest pain! People would rather die than exchange their truth, their worldview for a fact based truth. This holds true in every facet of this life. Plato understood this over two millennium ago.

Scrooge: The Victim of Christmas

Far from Saving Christmas, Dickens Destroyed
Meaning of Christmas Exemplified by Scrooge

Christmas as a holiday was not fully embraced by the post-Reformation churches for several reasons; mainly its paganistic roots and lack of focus on true redemption of sin in Christ. However, there were two major literary events that saved Christmas; the first, the poem, Twas the Night Before Christmas, by Clement Moore {circa. 1822} and Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol, written in 1843. While the former introduced Santa Claus as visualized today, the latter was much more destructive in legitimizing the Social Gospel message into society in general and churches in particular. I invite you to read my post, Roots of Social Justice: Social Gospel Progressivism, discussing Social Gospel’s impact on today’s Social Justice movement. Churches Abdication to Psych’s Myths

Psych Industry Developed Science Answer
So-called Scientific Theory is Just Scientism

Before the publication of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual {DSM} 3rd edition, so-called psych issues were based on Freudian or Jungian or whomever was one’s favorite myth developer; however, this lack of a scientific approach brought ridicule from the medical community. To combat this, and gain some sort of respectability, the psych industry developed a scientific theory and diagnostic criteria on which to base their labeling of someone’s so-called abnormality. There is one major flaw. Science is the measurability and repeatability, empiricism, to validate, or invalidate, a hypothesis. Psych industry had no research to validate their brain-chemical imbalance; in other words, they sort of made it up. This remains the mainstay of the industry today: a tissue of myths. Addictions Reveals Your Sin Nature

Addictions Reveals Your Sin Nature
You Seek to Hide With Your Worldview

In our last post, Addiction: Excusing Sin, I discussed that addiction is simply the expression of one’s sin nature in a variety of methodologies. This means that everyone has a besetting sin(s) and thus an addicting behavior. Since Christians remain in the body of flesh they too can continue addictive behaviors. However, the Christian has the power of the Holy Spirit to assist in “curing” or rejecting such behaviors. What hope does the non-Christian have? Almost none! Occasionally a addicting behavior can be changed into a less destructive behavior but there is no cure. Find an honest psychologist/psychiatrist and you will hear that these may be controlled but not cured! This is a true definition of hopelessness. Addiction: Excusing Sin

Addiction is the Escapism of Sin
Behind the Scientism of Medicine

Addiction is a billion dollar industry that adds additional behaviors under its guise of applying scientific means to control these so-called addictive behaviors. The American Psychiatric Association (APA) in its Diagnostic Statistical Manual (5th Ed.) defines addiction as, “Addiction is a complex condition, a brain disease that is manifested by compulsive substance use despite harmful consequence. People with addiction (severe substance use disorder) have an intense focus on using a certain substance(s), such as alcohol or drugs, to the point that it takes over their life.” Later in the same article other forms of addiction are listed having nothing to do with substances: gambling and internet gaming for instance. The American Society of Addictive Medicine (ASAM) defines addiction as, “Addiction is a treatable, chronic medical disease involving complex interactions among brain circuits, genetics, the environment, and an individual’s life experiences. People with addiction use substances or engage in behaviors that become compulsive and often continue despite harmful consequences.” Notice the key words in both definitions that removes responsibility for addiction from the individual: compulsive, chronic, medical disease, etc. Recidivism rates are so high that one cannot find reliable figures but instead find doublespeak terms that elude precise figures to hide the dismal failure of so-called rehabilitation treatment programs. In other words, there is little hope though there are a great many expensive programs touting a scientific rationale for its treatment approach; i.e., scientism. Nearly all of these programs eschew faith as the appropriate weapon for the ever mounting list of addictive behaviors forcing most churches to funnel their so-called addictive members into these failed programs. The implicit message: The Bible does not work. Continue reading “Addiction: Excusing Sin”
