The Illusion of the Matrix was Choice
The Illusion of its Ending: One Had Choice
Neo, acronym for one, believed he would find choice if he could leave the Matrix. By becoming the One the Architect told him that his choice was already predetermined, even if by his own nature; thus, he still did not have choice. By dying he thought he was insuring choice for mankind’s survivors; however, they too were bound by their own natures. Thus, choice is always an illusion. This is the carrot of Lucifer, that the Lost have choice; unfortunately, the stick is that they have no choice for the things of God are rejected by their own natures as being foolish (1Co 2:14).
Both saved and lost live under the illusion that they have free choice; however, free will implies lack of any influences upon one’s choice. This is an impossibility. One is bound by one’s human nature, life’s experiences, worldview, spiritual condition, ethnicity, culture, time period and perceived morality. Not even God has free will; He is bound to His nature and is incapable of doing evil (Ja 1:13-15). This also violates the Law of Excluded Middle (LEM). The Bible clearly states that one is either a slave to sin or a slave to Christ; the one constant, one is a slave (Ro 6:15-18). One cannot save one’s self but must be saved by God alone (Ro 9:19-24; Ep 1:3-10).
I write this to lay the foundation for this post which summarizes the previous two posts (Freedom to be Gods: Nihilism; Slavery of the Gods: True Nihilism). In Freedom to be Gods I showed how man’s philosophy was simply a means for man to justify his sin. This is the goal of every religion in every culture down through history. Modern man, post Medieval, has actively sought to go beyond this and show that all people are gods, or should be. This was one of Nietzsche’s major points. When he writes that God is dead and we have killed him, he means that the need for a religious body of belief is no longer needed by modern man. Leadership will arise from the Uberman who will guide those with lesser acumen. Nihilism simply means that man defines his own morality apart from any religious body of belief. The fact that Nietzsche become mentally incompetent the last ten years of his life, whether by aggressive syphilis or overwhelming despondency is debatable. My conclusion is that philosophy was simply a smokescreen providing the illusion of choice to assuage man while government worked to accomplish its own goals. This was the thrust of the post, Slavery of the Gods” True Nihilism. Though tyrannies have existed for millennium they usually are not successful in maintaining control except via force, which is very expensive. Economic exhaustion usually leads to governmental collapse and cultural demise. Historically, governments have been the true determinants of morality; thus, true nihilism. Modern governments tried brute force and discovered that large numbers of people cannot be effectively controlled while contending against other well-endowed governments offering better incentives. Governments cannot kill enough people to remain in power, they have tried in the 20th century: bloodiest century on record. So, getting back to our Matrix opening; it does not matter if one takes the Red or the Blue pill: Choice is always the illusion.
Modern Democratic Governments
Offer the Illusion of Choice: Voting
The true faith of modern governments is the illusion of democracy. People believe they have choice via the ballot box; however, extensive studies have shown that voters only have the illusion of control since each vote becomes more meaningless as the numbers of people who vote increases. If ten people vote your single vote has a 10% influence on the outcome. If 10,000,000 people vote then your vote becomes meaningless (The Myth of the Rational Voter). People are not rationale, nor is that desirable since the 20th century illustrated that governments based on supposedly pure rationalism had no qualms of murdering tremendous numbers of their own people and those who were not their peoples. Democracies in the 19th and early 20th centuries discovered that the merging of government, business and intelligentsia was the perfect combination to give the people the illusion of choice while removing the unpredictability of choice; and socialism in the form of Progressivism was born.
Progressivism is the non-violent means of inducing one’s citizens to quietly acquiesce to increasing governmental control while continuing the illusion of choice. The secret to the success of Progressivism is the government control of business, voluntarily sought after by business as protection against efficient marketplace competition; unionization of workers, sought after as a means to force artificially higher wages; education, sought after as a means to control the truth the government desires, sought after as a means to train the intelligentsia and entertainment, sought after as a means to control acceptable propaganda. With these major players speaking basically the same message, even if using different terminology or supporting somewhat different methodologies, people’s votes are channeled. The single most important control a government exercises is the control of information; thus, the major reason for classifying governmental actions. When people have access to approved information and limited access to actual information the consent of the people is manufactured; hence, hegemony. The end result of either American political party is big government, big business and one set of morality that continues to increase government’s power.
Lucifer’s Methodology is Government’s
Methodology: Bring People to One End
Christian’s today view government as both the evil of Satan, Democrats, or the reviving arm of God, Republicans. This naivety is born of ignorance of both the Bible and history. Christ said that the world will grow worse and worse until He comes (Mt 24:3-8). Christians and their demonizations that seek to make nation godly and usher in a golden age to present to Christ on His return have ignored the plain teaching of Scripture and fallen under the illusion of choice against God’s expressed truth that the world will grow increasingly more destructive until His return. All governments belong to Lucifer. He seeks to combine individual national governments into regional governments and then institute one overarching single government over the earth. His major methodology is lies, deceit, but he not above using violence which is his main tool (Ez 28:15-16). If Lucifer was not above using these tactics on Christ bringing about Jesus’ execution, and Lucifer’s own destruction, he is not above doing the same to people as the 20th century aptly demonstrated. To all those who are lost their end is their destruction. This is why Christians must concentrate on the Gospel of Salvation for it alone has the power to remove the illusion of choice offered by Lucifer. Unfortunately, even the elect are coming under the siren song of choice and though they cannot lose their salvation, they can stand in shame giving an account to Christ as the Bema Seat for ignoring His truth. The following graphic represents the illusion of choice as both are the same person despite one’s perspective. Choice: It’s What Blinds You.
