The outer veneer of respectability
Hides the inner corruption of sin
We all know that the world can be a bad place and look to governments for protection. Americans have made an art of excusing their government’s excesses while invoking divine guidance in the holy name of democracy. I do not say this is untrue for other nations but it is especially true for America. Yet, the holiness of America’s righteous march to glory is lined with deceit, degradation, and death.
I recently made the foray into what is critically labeled as Revisionist History. Since the popular and easy use of the Internet in the mid ’90s accepted history as suffered severe setbacks. There were always those few writers who revisited accepted historical concepts and events. But they could not make any traction against commonly accepted history because of limited access and few channels of widespread communications. The Internet changed all that by giving people nearly unlimited access to many different sources of revisionist perspectives. However, I am not here to delve into specifics of each event. That is not the purpose of this Christian blog. I hope to give the readers biblical skills to discern good from evil, or to put it into John’s words: Light from Darkness.
The above graphic clearly illustrates that difference. Each person is born in sin; thus, a sinner. It is what you are, not what you do; thus, you do what you already are. Your actions reveal your true inner nature. No matter what image is projected to others the truth of sin is that it can only produce lies, degradation and violence since the father of all sin is Lucifer, the first sinner (Jo 8:44; Ro 1:18-32). Christ said that each person has a light within. If one’s mind was single {saved} then the Light was healing. If one’s mind was scattered {sin} then one’s light was Darkness, dark energy not just absence of light (Mt 6:22-23). Lucifer was Prometheus, he brought dark light to man, sin, to become the father of all who remain in sin. Though he is the father of Darkness, he masquerades as an angel of light (2Co 11:12-15).
People are the governments. We may refer to governments like they were living entities but in reality, governments are the channels of power for those who are at or near the apex of governments. The first government, developed by Cain after killing Abel, developed laws; i.e., a social structure to try and control the sinfulness of its members. This was necessary since Cain went to the area occupied by others who had rejected God and refused to live with those who followed God (Ge 4:1-17). Within a few generations society developed a military force, Nephilim or mighty men, that infiltrated, corrupted and conquered even the godly society. This led God to cause a Cataclysm that only eight people survived; i.e., Noah and the Ark (Ge 6:1-8). Cain appeared to be the chosen Messiah only to be revealed as a sinner and the architect of government to control sinners. After the Cataclysm Nimrod continued the single government model of Cain but molded it about worship through him to his god (Ge 10:8-10; 11:1-9). The result: God forced different perspectives and languages upon the unitary society. Sin hates differences; thus, people grouped themselves by languages and began to spread over the earth. Whenever the various groups came into contact they fought for power, wealth and control. Nothing has changed even today for there is nothing new under the sun (Ec 1:9-11).
The Trials of Christ Removed the Veil
Goodness from Roman and Jewish Law
What is striking that throughout the Gospels, Jesus is confronted by various Sadducees, Pharisees, scribes and lawyers trying to discredit Him and His Gospel. Their hostility is hidden beneath a mantle of seeking information from a wise Teacher. Yet, once he is arrested the Jewish and Roman brutality is slowly revealed. He is tortured nearly to death and then hung on a stauros {tree} to die an agonizing death. All the while the crowd about Him jeered and challenged Him to save himself. This is the true face of sin. This was the true face of our sin before salvation. This fact must be absolutely accepted as truth if one is to understand the enormity of Christ’s gift of salvation (Je 17:9). If we do not understand this then not only can we not understand ourselves but we cannot understand the evilness of governments either.
What has this to do with Revisionist History? Legitimate, researched and scholarly revisionist history seeks to pull back the pat answers given in government-run public schools that legitimize the past actions of the government while preparing students to implement the future evil policies of the selfsame government. Christians have been conditioned in the latter portion of the 20th century to accept their government as Godly and primarily righteous, if governed by the correct party of course. Yet, all people are sinners; thus, their governments must also be sinful.
For example, America entered World War I not to free the world for democracy but to enter into an Anglo-American economic alliance, especially for oil. And, to destroy the economic power of Germany which could be a strong competitive force in central Europe. The Second World War resulted from the cruel and suppressive peace forced onto Germany by the Anglo-American coalition along with the International Socialists, the USSR. Yet, even though its peace was not as repressive it did leave more people under totalitarian regimes than lived as such before the war began.
This should come as no surprise to Americans since Lincoln started his war willing to compromise on the slave issue so long as he could force the South to collect high tariffs. When the South seceded from the Union they promised to reduced their tariffs to a mere 10%, as compared to the Unions nearly 60% or so tariffs. This was the federal governments main source of monies. Goods would quickly flow through the South making it more prosperous than the North. The War was forced by Lincoln to prevent this from occurring. He rewrote the understanding of the Constitution and violated the same document to quell dissent that arose from the northern states. Yet, due to rewrite history, Lincoln has been perceived as the most freedom loving and beloved president except for Washington!
In all of these few examples the love of money was the root of the evil that killed people by the millions (1Ti 6:10). How much more is hidden that will never come to light? We may never know the full extent of America’s culpability in the formation of evil in this world during our short history. But, we do know that all nations belong to Lucifer and we must live under them just as we must live in this World. However, living in the World also means not being of the World.

Proper normative interpretation gives truth
The applied use of normative hermeneutical interpretive techniques gives the reader access to the truth of God in all matters. A shallow approach will reveal the Gospel of salvation but little else. Yet, this is where most Christians stop. They do not want to hear about the bad news of the World, or their country. Yet, the Bible demands that each of us learn to use the Bible as mature adults in the Word in order to understand good {Light} from evil {Darkness} (He 5:14). Yet, Christians hide behind meaningless clichés and the flimsy excuse of, “What can I do?” We can do nothing against governments. God allows such governments to exist as He wills and we are not to rebel for we would be rebelling against God (Ro 13:1). Yet, we cannot obey governments when they require us to violate God’s truth (Ac 4:1-20). Nor should we actively support governments when they clearly reveal their love of deceit, degradation and violence. Yet, in sadness I see even loved ones deciding to ignore government’s evil in order to live a false gullibility of hope and happiness. Disney epitomizes this dichotomy of deception and truth; if, one cares to understand. So the next time one thinks of Disney remember the truth of this logo.
