Destruction of the Church by Fear

George Lucas (Star Wars) got it wrong
Fear Leads to Murder & Destruction

The Gnostic philosophy of George Lucas, creator of Star Wars, missed the mark in expressing the truth of fear. Anakin Skywalker got it right, fear of losing his mother and then the loss of his mother expressed the right conclusion; fear led to murder. This is embodied in the commandment, “Do not kill” (Ex 20:13) as Christ explained the fullness of this commandment in His Sermon on the Mount (Mt 5:21-26). Why does one hate? The quick answer is “fear of God’s judgment” (1Jo 4:18). Continue reading “Destruction of the Church by Fear”

Willful Perpetuation of Ignorance

Graphic shows the presuppositions of
All movements based on Critical Theory

In my last post (Social Justice: The New ReligionI showed that Social Justice, and Critical Theory from which it is based, is hardly a new philosophy but a very ancient spurious  paradigm sprung from the lost person’s sin nature which rejects God and any truth associated with God. It has gained traction in many previous societies under the guise of paganism, gnosticism and even Christendom religions that wandered from the biblical Gospel into worldly philosophies. The Bible predicted such incoherent musing as gaining traction because people rejected God and His truths and actively decided to follow myths according to their own passions (2Th 2:9-12; 2Ti 4:3-4). Social Justice: The New Religion

Scientific Method Encapsulates
Failure of Modern Rationalism

Years ago I was enrolled in a Master of Science (Nursing) program at a well known major university and was struck by two important teaching points forcibly driven home by the professors. One, we were not there to learn how to think; we were there to regurgitate back exactly what we were taught; no more. Science could neither prove nor disprove any nursing theory making all theories, no matter how contradictory, correct or non-falsifiable. The fact that they taught the Machiavellian theory of nursing leadership was a tip off that they would brook no dissent; and they did not. I voiced the observation that if knowledge could neither prove nor disprove any theory then nursing research was not a science but a religion; I soon had to leave the program, of course. This was my professional exposure to postmodernism as it was transmutating into today’s reflexive social justice religion. Continue reading “Social Justice: The New Religion”

Deconstructing the “Melting Pot”

Sin produces division based on bias and
Prejudice; Postmodernism codifies bias

Bias and prejudice did not begin at the Tower of Babel when God miraculously divided one unified society into at least three distinct groups who then separated from each other (Ge 11:1-9). Bias and prejudice were present at the first sin when Man blamed God and Woman; Woman blamed the Dragon and the Dragon blamed no one, at least directly (Ge 3:8-19). Today bias and prejudice are becoming codified both philosophically  and legally legitimizing both as weapons against shared problem solving. America self-described itself as a melting pot {a place where a variety of races, cultures, or individuals assimilate into a cohesive whole} of cultures as a means to end the near constant European warfare based on cultural differences. Today this approach is being rejected in favor of permanent but artificial divisions designed to promote violence based on bias and prejudice. Continue reading “Deconstructing the “Melting Pot””

Backbone of Social Justice: Critical Theory

The linkage between failed Marxism and
Social Justice is the Critical Theory illogic

With the failure of Marxism to explain why workers supported nationalism in World War I and peasants supported international socialism {Communism} in the formations of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and Communist China several schools of thought arose. My post, Social Justice is Socialism Embraced, touched on some of these issues as have various other posts. By using the word theory, such as Critical Theory, the reader presupposes that a rational, methodical approach is implied when the exact opposite it true. Social Justice and the various Critical Theory movements reject rationality while embracing irrationality as its methodology. Continue reading “Backbone of Social Justice: Critical Theory”

Social Justice is Socialism Embraced

Definition of Social Justice is repackaged
International Socialism of 19th Century

This general definition of Social Justice actually defines nothing specifically. It is a loose collection of terms that remain undefined such as: egalitarian society; principles of equality and solidarity; human rights and dignity of people. The fact that Social Justice includes poverty, discrimination, racism, injustice, civil rights and human issues becomes a blank check to demand whatever becomes necessary for the moment to advance its agenda: international socialism or globalization. Essentially, social justice, like the “War on Terror” operates without mandate, without clearly defined objectives and goals and has no end point; thus, it is an ongoing process. Hayek said it best in the title of his book, “On the Road to Serfdom” for that is the only end point toward which Social Justice strains toward. Populism and Spiritualism in Today’s Politics

Nothing Appears More Apt to Divide
As Populist Movements Uniting Together

America is once again gearing up for another presidential election circus. President Trump won the presidency in 2016 against most odds because he appealed to the voters of America’s heartland; thus, he became known as a populist president. This year the Democrats are trying to outdo each other in bidding for the Democratic populist base. I guess, if you didn’t beat him, join or use his methods. And, Christians generally are bemoaning the loss of God’s hand on America as morality takes a nose dive into debauchery. But then again, American politics has always been a combination of populism and spiritualism. Continue reading “Populism and Spiritualism in Today’s Politics”

Worldview of Unforgiving Piety

Worldview reduces complex concepts
Into meaningless rhetoric

The current political rhetoric has devolved into pietistic moralistic charge and counter-charge as each talking head seeks to capture the high moral ground while illustrating that the other side spews forth the rhetoric of hate. Yes, it is time for another presidential election cycle to begin. The charge of hate is the latest concept being used to discredit anyone and anything with which you disagree, regardless of the historical period or circumstances. Worldview “Always a Flaw in the System”

One’s Worldview is One’s Holodeck
Recreating Reality in Our Image

Our two previous posts looking at worldviews defined the term worldview and the force outside of ourselves that molded our worldview {Can You Define Your Worldview?; Your Virtual Reality Worldview}. Our understanding of worldview changed as our understanding probed deeper into the complexities of worldview formation. This worldview article will explore our responsibility in the formation of our worldviews. The holodeck in Star Trek, The Next Generation {STTNG} was designed to respond to the operators wishes, within certain poorly defined limits; yet, it often revealed the flaws in human understanding. This is a metaphor for our part in designing our worldview: poorly defined flaws. Continue reading “Worldview “Always a Flaw in the System””

Your Virtual Reality Worldview

Purpose of the movie The Matrix:
Was Choice or Non-choice

One’s worldview is difficult to grasp if this is a new concept. The movie, Matrix, believed that people, reality, were captives of machines, computers. These computers controlled people by giving them a false reality. The majority of people were docile but a minority refused to believe in the reality of the matrix; thus, they rebelled; exercised choice. In reality, they had no choice at all; it was simply another form of illusion. One’s worldview is the interpreter of perceived reality; thus, one’s worldview is one’s matrix or interface between self and all else.  In one sense this is very true: Welcome to the Bible.
